Isle of Wight Aqua Park FAQs

Here's some of the most frequently-asked questions about school visits to Isle of Wight Aqua Park, posed by teachers and other group leaders

What do we need to bring?

Wetsuits are provided, so you just need shorts / T-shirts or swimwear underneath, and a towel. It's also probably a good idea to have a change of clothes for afterwards just in case. Changing rooms are available, as are toilets and showers.

Are there any special or unusual requirements I need to know about before visiting?

Swimming costumes or thin shorts/T-shirts should be worn under normal clothing to speed up changing times at the Aqua Park. Bear in mind these may get wet. Students will also need to take a towel and sufficient dry clothing to change into after the session.

Are there any considerations regarding infection control?

Facility is outdoors. Equipment and changing areas are sanitised between uses.

Are there any special requests or processes for group leaders on arrival?

On arrival, please send an adult to check in and take instructions from site staff with respect to the session.

If you are a group over 30 you will definitely have at least one private session (up to max capacity) and all necessary safety equipment will be provided. There will also be time allowed for changing at each end of the session.

Is there a spectator area?

Yes - ideal for supervision or for those not wishing to participate. The park is adjacent to Tapnell Farm so during the daytime it is perfectly possible to split the group if you do find that you have a number of students not wanting to play in the water.

Is there space to sit and eat a packed lunch picnic?

No picnic space

What level of water competence is needed?

IW Aqua Park isn't really suitable for non-swimmers. Buoyancy aids are provided however so anyone with a degree of water confidence should be OK. If you have some less able members of your group it may be better to request a private session.
