ISurf Watersports is great for all ages, but perhaps a little overwhelming for the very youngest visitors

Here's some of the most frequently-asked questions about school visits to ISurf Watersports, posed by teachers and other group leaders
The exact mix of activities and games on the day will depend on weather and tidal conditions along with the ages of the students and the overall level of water confidence amongst the cohort.
The activity takes place on a fairly shallow beach. The swimming ability and water confidence of the individuals will be quickly assessed by the instructors and no-one will be expected to go into water deeper than their abilities will allow them to easily cope with.
Typically the maximum is 24 students. For larger groups they may need to be split into batches, with the non-swimming group playing on the beach adjacent. For very large groups we will probably look to split over two or more half days, with additional offsite activities included round-robin.
There will be 1 qualified instructor for every 8 students approximately. Adult teachers are welcome to join in too.
On arrival your coach will drop you off as close to the facility as possible. You will find iSurf on the beach at Sandown behind the large Sundial cafe area at the opposite end of the esplanade to the pier, near to the Sandringham Hotel. There will usually be flags flying. Head on over and introduce yourselves and take instruction from staff.
There are plenty of cafes and ice cream stalls nearby
The final safety decision lies with the provider. They offer a wide range of activities and it is unusual for a session to be cancelled due to weather during the summer months. If this does happen, we will try to substitute an alternative activity and if possible re-arrange your iSurf session. iSurf will only refund if THEY cancel the session.
Public toilets are available behind the cafe building
It's a good idea to save time at iSurf if students arrive wearing their swimming costumes underneath their regular clothes. Wetsuits will be provided, but not footwear. We suggest either specific beach footwear or an old pair of trainers. Shoes are not strictly necessary but will help avoid unexpected injuries.
Yes, you will need to bring shoes suitable for use on the beach and in the water. Old trainers are great for this.
Food can be eaten on the beach
